Early on in this blog, I used the XKCD type font, which I enjoy because of its frivolousness; but pretty quickly, when I was reading over my posts, I realised why fonts are so important. The XKCD type font is not great to read when you are reading longer form material…

So I recently came across this wonderful website which is an amazing resource for everything typography. The owner of the site has created their own professional fonts, which have a professional price tacked on.

But luckly, the website provides some really down to earth advice on how and when to use different fonts.

What I did find here, is that there are some excellent open source fonts that look great and can be used anywhere, for free!

So I have gone with the recomendation from the site which is Charter.
